It might be "EQuilter.com" at 30,000 SQ ft of space.

This is a great discussion. I am afraid I would go into one of the large stores mentioned and be so overwhelmed I wouldn't know what to buy. But, I think I'll make a list of locations too! I live near Fabric Shack and it has wonderful selection and also a home store for decor fabrics. They have online store also.

G Street Fabrics is highly touted. When I went there (years ago) I found they had very little quilting fabric. Terrific for decorating fabrics, formal dresses etc. I think that's what's made their reputation in the D.C. area. As I said, it's been quite a while since I've been there so maybe they've chnaged.

Agreed. And if I were in MN, I'd just move right into BlueBamboo. Loved that store when I visited a few years ago. Might even be worth it to visit my relatives (bleh) up there just so I could spend a few hours in there. ;) ;)
That Gruber's is only 8 miles from me and it is mind boggling to go in there, fabric everywhere and expensive. Don't go in there very often, but must say the employees are very nice and helpful. several years ago I was making a wall hanging for our cabin and needed several pieces of fabric, took what I had started and the person that helped me just kept pulling bolts off of the shelves until we found the right fabric.

I love the Painted Pony in LaPorte, TX. It is about a 2 1/2 hr. drive for me, so it is a real treat to go there. I have been to the Fabric Depot in the Portland, Or. area and it is huge, and well organized.

A son lives in Downy. When I'm there we usually go to some fabric shops. He lilkes them too. Have been to Buena Park several times, but not for that purpose. I'll have to tell him it exists. Knowing him he'll make it a Sat. or Sun. outing and then report to me to see if there is anything I need. Not so much what I need, just what I'd like. LOL Dream on girl.
