For Floridians, the biggest has to be Rainbow's End in Dunedin (Tampa area) that claims 20,000 bolts! There is a whole section of nothing but food fabrics and a whole room of Christmas; they arrange by color, not by fabric line (which I'm not sure I like) and a huge collection of solids. But for all the fabulous fabrics, I have never met a grumpier group of ladies.

Unless MaryJo's has changed, only a portion of her store is quilting fabric. She has the largest selection of bridal fabrics in the state. She also carries ultra suede, velvets and velveteen, bridesmaid dress fabrics, upholstery fabrics, woolens, corduroy, knits, and then quilting.

Try Fabric Depot in Portland, Oregon: 70,000 sf and a huge quilt section.

Here's a place to start looking. The CT list has 16 shops, all brick and morter. (the link directly to that list won't work for me, sorry)

And because I grew up nearby, this one in Danbury as well.

I knew they couldn't all have gone out of business. We also used to do our own shop hops - all in a day trip from NYC.
Holy Cats!!!! I never knew about these - one in North Haven and the other in Durham which are only 15 minutes from me!!! Guess where I will be this weekend!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!

Well I dont care about big, I like my little LQS who has many bolts and flat fold tables, and it is all quilting fabrics at a price I can afford when I need it.lol. Also I live in a rural area of Oklahoma so none of the big ones are near me.

I spent entire Saturdays there walking up one aisle down the other when I lived within blocks of there! I was so amazed the first time I went in there, it almost took my breath away!

So much fabric - so little time! In a lifetime you could not buy a fat quarter of each piece in the store and use them! It is unreal! But, so lovely!!!

Like any fabric you have to watch for good fabric, but I'd say 99% is very good. How I miss being out there to buy more - but then, I have quite a stash right here I've accumulated.

Whoever can visit this store though is in for an adventure of a lifetime. It is worth every moment of going there!

Just remember bigger isn't always better. There is one in MN called Gruber's that advertises 10,000 bolts. When I went there I thought it was Mind Boggling. Didn't buy a thing.

Agreed. And if I were in MN, I'd just move right into BlueBamboo. Loved that store when I visited a few years ago. Might even be worth it to visit my relatives (bleh) up there just so I could spend a few hours in there. ;) ;)

Not sure which is the largest, but it sounds like a fieldtrip and a half to me. Better bring a sack lunch with you.

I agree I love Lolly's. Not so much on Yoder's.
