Of course it would depend on what size block you were making. large blocks mean longer strips to start with. Wish I could be of some help, but I've just always cut a base from muslin and sew my strips to that, but now I'm curious too and will have to "google" that.

Not sure what type of chart you need. What is a tilting block? Block on point?

Do you have a picture to post that will help us?

Take a quilt block. Cut rectangle corner to corner which will give you two triangles. Do thils twice whilch will give you what you need to make the block tilt. Retangle needs to be longer than the quilt block and that's the math I'm having trouble with. Sorry but couldn't resize the block I found on line

Unfortunately the link is no longer active and the archived page does not include most of the images. https://web.archive.org/web/20150820...lock-tutorial/ There is another cutting triangles tutorial at https://nonniequiltingdreams.wordpre...ff-kilt-quilt/ and then there is the easy way to do a tilted block without doing partial seams at https://www.getasquiltingstudio.com/...-tutorial.html

I would lay the block on the square as I wanted it to be. Mark around it then cut out the angles leaving a same allowance.
