oh dear! My ruler foot will not be arriving soon....but yesterday I pieced together 12 nine patches made out of scrape fabric I had cut into 3.5 inch squares years ago. All different fabrics but I did use the same light and the same dark in each square. Bernina also has a ruler work quilt along going on and I have printed out the guide for the first block which is using the straight line rulers. So, I will work on getting all my practice squares made and the rest of the supplies. I also purchased three rulers from Angela Walters and will be following along in her quilt along too. Hope that foot arrives soon or I may have to load something on the longarm and follow along on that. Yeah! my phone/internet company came out yesterday and replaced my 50 some year line so I now have my home phone and a much better connection to my internet. He showed me the wire...oh my...I think those squirrels had also been getting some chewing exercise on it.

Stitch in the ditch is a breeze with a ruler foot! My straight lines have never been more accurate, in the ditch ot on a free standing motif..I won't ever go back to trying to do a straight line without one!

Donna, do you have your feed dogs down or up when you stitch in the ditch?

Mine are up, but I also leave them up for FMQ with a hopping foot...I use Leah Day's method with the feed dogs up, I got used to it , and I like it.
