I wouldn't...doing things by hand requires a visual concept that you will NOT get buy watching videos, or online shots...you really need to feel and SEE what is going on...and if you really wanted to give it a go..try out the FREE vids online first...

I disagree- I took the pictorial quilting class from craftsy and it was definetly worth the sale price of $30. The videos were fantastic, and the teacher answered ALL questions in a very timely manner. I think their full price is too much, but their sale prices are great.

It was much easier to see what was going on then when I've tried to take classes at a store.

I got the same one from craftsy but my LQS runs a hands on class for $25 when I'm ready to try and do free motion I'll go take it in house we've got wonderful teachers that have been quilting for over 20 years. For any other type of quilting instruction I might do it from a video but not this, I'd be too afraid of messing up the quilt.

I'm taking that now. I like it. I think its worth the sale price. I like the fact that it never expires and I can work and my own pace. You can ask questions and get answers pretty quickly.
