    We made one in blue and yellow with green centers. Ours is here: Blue and yellow Log Cabin

    Definitely make the one that speaks to you.

    I think three colors would look great. But I would use varying shades of each color except the center.

    I made a black and white with a yellow center it was in a magazine maybe a couple of years ago. It was supposed to be a modern take on the log cabin.

    You can make it with just three fabrics (not several shades of 2 colors). But, first make one block to see if you like it. I made a small one just using 2 colors (it was a very specific request). I made it in the 'curvy' styles and it was very striking. But, it was very different and you loose some of the log cabin look of it.

    I just finished my first modern LC in two colors. Just loved all the modern patterns in the book 'Cabin fever' by Natalia Bonner and Kathleen Whiting.
