Wow, that sounds like a great price for a Tin Lizzie. Was in brand new? Does it have a stitch regulator? Thanks a lot.

You silly girl....how can you let your Bailey sit unused?? Go for it....just practice. I'm jealous. How about I come and try it out for you, haha.

I will say that Nolting puts their prices out in the open

Note - Noting just acquired Hinterberg so if you were looking to go with a Voyager type of model, you call them now ;)

So does Gammill

And Bailey...

(that is what I have sitting in my craft room, unused. I've been kind of scared of it. I will be plunging in soon though)

You will probably also get cheaper prices if you deal directly through the dealers.

The prices are generally out there - for the sticker price. What you end up with if you go through a dealer or get a used set up is different.

I bought a gently used HQ16 with built-in stitch regulator and 12 ft table for $5,000. Easy to use and I love it!! (Of course, I went through the 'normal learning curve' before I could say that. :)

Okay, so I have kind of a personal question regarding the cost of these long arms. They are quite an investment, and I was just wondering, in this day and age with the economy the way it is, how does one afford this? Are you gals financing the real expensive ones? I was thinking about financing but worry about owing money. I've been looking and test driving for about a year now. Just wondering ........

I have a "Homesteader" longarm quilting machine. These I have found to be inexpensive but of very high quality.

Check it out online at "the quilting solution"

Jennifer is fantastic - and the service is great. If you live near SW Ohio you would be welcome to come and see mine.

What gets to me is you spend that much money for a long arm then you have to purchase all the other things like frame laser light and it just goes on and on.I will stick with my pounce pad and FMQ!And sve the rest to go traveling with DH we are retired!!!

I paid $17,000 for a HQ Avante with pro-stitcher, last summer, I was able to get a free studio accuquilt package with it.
