I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you. I get nervous when thinking about adjusting internal things like the needle, but I know one day, I need to become comfortable with all that. Maybe, using a cupped foot will give enough of a slight downward pressure on the material right around the needle to allow the needle to fully clear it when it raises. maybe.... I will start there and see what happens. Thank you
