I have a question..as a newbie quilter..what are these used for? I have a brand new one in my closet in a box..I tried it once..and just could not get it to work. So back in the box, way back in the closet...to never be touched again.

Try some blue painters tape on the clamps and see if that will help with the slippage? I use it alot on my embroidery hoops especially when the fabric is slippery, works every time.

good Luck

I have purchased all the pipe and fittings to make one like this but have been too busy sewing to put it together. I purchased the clamps on line and they are 1 inch and fit very tight on the 1 inch pipe. In fact I am afraid too tight but we will see when I get it finished. I am making mine smaller 30 x 20 since only I will be using it and everything has to be smaller in an RV!

Maybe one of those swim noodles cut to size and split down the middle to hold it like on the air conditioner pips.

These are quilting frames. You use them to hold the quilt so you can hand quilt. The QSnap frames come in all sizes from picture frame size to floor size. They are very popular because it's easy to take apart when not in use. I use mine to baste my quilts. I do machine quilting and not much hand quilting.
