Hi Barb
I really enjoyed swapping with you and would be happy to do it anytime! Just let me know when you are ready and did you want to pick a theme or should we do whatever we would like?
Setting up a fabric postcard swap here would be a fun idea, there seems to be enough interest. We could do a small swap with groups of 4 or 5, or even 1 to 1 swaps.
I have lots of links on how to do the fabric postcards...

this one has additional links on the side, is 7 pages long

Okay, that is enough, I do have more but really reading the instructions in one or 2 of these is enough info to make your 1st postcard BUT I find looking at the photos of the postcards in each link is the fun part!
enjoy

That is truly cool, but you should probably delete the pic of the back showing the two real names and addresses. At least cover up the personal info. Never know about who's out there soaking it all up!
edit: oops, Barb's gone for a week starting today. Can Patrice edit a post without deleting the whole thing?

This is interesting, does it go through the mail just like a post card...maybe someone would want to steal it then, or does it go in an envelope? This kinda looks like fun :) And what do you do with them, collect them just like in a stack, or do you put them together into a quilt? Sorry, curious minds lol

Hi
Yes the postcards are mailed like any postcard but if they are heavily embellished it is best to mail them in a cello envelope and ask that it be hand canceled and 'do not automate' and it will cost 62 cents to mail it that way. If it is very flat with nothing to jam up the PO machinery, you can send it for 27cents. Because of stitching, I send them for 47cents...27cent postcard rate +20cents additional fee for 'do not automate' and hand cancel. After all the time/effort put into one of these, I would rather pay more so that they are more likely to arrive safely to their destination.
Right now I am just having fun collecting the PCs, but plan on making a wall hanging with some of them, or possibly even a wall hanging using some velcro so that I can change them on occasion.

HI Barb
Hand cancel means that the postal clerk is going to hand stamp the post mark on the stamp, and do not automate means that they will not put it through the machinery. Don't worry about what it means, just say 'Please hand cancel' (they will do it in front of you) and 'please do not automate', they know what it means, and you will get charged .20 to not automate. They just want the money, LOL. They cannot charge to hand cancel mail.
