    The president of our quild has written a wonderful book (just published this past summer).

    The title of it is Thoroughly Modern Dresden by Anelie Belden.

    She gives Dresden a thoroghly new updated look.

    it sounds like strip piecing the petals. then when you put them together, the strips form angles where they meet up. i haven't seen a dresden plate done that way, but if you go to quiltville, you'll get an idea of the strip method and you'll know if that's what you saw.

    on the right side column, look up the strip- or string- pieced quilts. look for 'out on a string' in particular. hope this helps.

    Try the one at modabakeshop.com. It is a free one called plates for your table. They have a runner ,quilt ,and a round place mat. I love this one

    Unless you cleared your history, the website is there. You'll have to open each listing but first double click on the history pages to open up all sub pages.
