What is his personality type? Super spare in decorating or more free-style. What are the colors of his favorite team, or whatever he really loves. What are his hobbies, his passions... There are SO many specialized fabrics/patterns around.
Does he garden, and more of a nurturer...or what (maybe like earthy colors)? Is he outgoing (maybe like primary colors). Is he an artistic person (maybe like tertiary or secondary colors). NEED MORE INFO...
Maybe what is his complexion, etc. because folks tend to like those colors which are most complimentary to their complexions. Fair hair & blue eyes might like blues or other "summer" colors, brunette with brown eyes might like "winter colors" or black/white or primary colors, redhead might like colors with yellow undertones, etc. What does he look his best is? I'd use those colors he looks his best while wearing. You know "his colorrs" which make him "look alive," maybe he would enjoy those.

I like crisp lines and deep colors in male quilts.
