Perhaps then, you will post all the directions and measurements ... many here still need the help in dissecting a pattern, so being that you are so capable, you would be thrilled to show your expertise!

Here is my take on how to do it: And I would make it reversible if it were me. For each side, Make 4 blocks the same size, based on how large you want your finished table runner. I would probably go for 15" to 20". For 15" finished blocks: Cut focus center squares 7.5", need 4. First edging, cut 2.5" x 7.5", need 8. Next side, 2.5" x 11.5", need 8. Second edging: Cut 2.5" x 11.5", need 8. Next side, 2.5" x 15.5", need 8. Carefully cut the 4th square into quarters. Lay out the blocks as in the photo, and sew the quarter blocks to the whole blocks in rows as per layout. then sew the rows together. Repeat above for the back, making sure you lay it out to match the reverse side of the first one.
You can now stitch right sides together, leaving a space for turning, or cut and add a binding. If you feel confident of your narrow edge seam, you can press under (and glue if desired) your outside seams and topstitch the two layers together. A decorative stitch would be nice to use in this case.
I think I have triple checked my math, but sometimes the fibro helps me make the same mistakes over and over. I suggest you do the math for yourself before cutting.
Start with the finished size you desire, subtract the edging widths you desire x2 for each row of edging as there is edging on each side of the block. Use the finished size for these math problems, but don't forget to add in the 1/2" seam allowance before actually cutting. (for instance, I used 2" edging in the math, but cut at 2.5").
After subtracting the edgings, that leaves you with the size of your center square (plus 1/2" seam allowance).
I hope this has been helpful to someone. I love this table runner and it looks much more complex than it actually seems to be on closer inspection.
