Ooh, all these stories just make me cringe! I try to be careful but my closest calls have come from my sharp kitchen knives. Several times if it hadn't been for my fingernails, my digits would be a little shorter! We all need to be very careful with the rotary cutters. I remember walking into my LQS and seeing one of the regulars with a huge bandage on her hand and that is exactly what had happened to her, the rotary cutter got away from her and it happens PDQ!

I'm sorry you hurt your finger, stings a lot! I did the very same thing about a year or so ago. My finger now looks deformed. My DH bought me the Klutz glove from Fons and Porter, works really well. I hope you heal up quickly!

EEE-ooowww! It hurts just to read about your finger. I sliced into my finger with a kitchen knife cutting up veggies. For a full second there was no blood just shock. I quickly wrapped tape to the cut attached piece and the finger. Didn't unwrapped until that evening. By then it had attached but had to baby that poor finger for several days.

Better get a glove that you can't cut thru.

Keep the finger bandaged for several days without disturbing it. Fingertips will regenerate to some extent. I lopped a chunk off my middle finger, dangling by a thread. I taped it back tightly into place, and it healed back on, and the tissue under it regenerated as well, so now the finger is about 1/8" longer than it used to be. Extra power for flipping someone the bird now.
