machine quilting on a Pfaff
#1
Hi all, I am trying to start MQ & need to know some things like can you do a little pattern & then just stop & start again later? I have a darning foot to use but my stitches on back look wonky so I'm not using correct something. Any one have a Pfaff tiptronic 2020 they MQ on?. Any help appreciated.

I have a 2030 and when I FM the presser foot has a in between spot. Not up all the way and not down. It will click into the spot. Also make sure your feed dogs are down and loosen the tension just a little bit.
Hope this helps.

Make sure you put down the presser foot. The tension won't be right if you don't. It takes lots of practice to FMQ. I usually use a scrap piece of fabric and batting to practice a new design. Yes you can stop and start but you have to do it in a place that doesn't show too much.

I have an 1170 which is an older model from the 90's. The presser foot doesn't go all of the way down. There is a little ledge half way down and to the back and the presser foot lever sets on that. Do you have the stitch length set to zero? That works for me. Also, go medium fast.
