Is Gutermann quilting thread pretty good for machine quilting. I'm taking a machine quilting class in a few weeks and they suggested bringing Mettler thread. How do they compare or which quilt thread do my quilting friends out their like the best.
:-D Thx

I've used both Gutterman and Mettler (and others) and frankly I've really not noticed that one was better than the other for quilting (I notice a difference more in piecing). For quilting it's more important to choose the right weight of thread.
Was she more specific about which Mettler to use? 50? 60? Or something heavy like 28 that would really show off quilting?

why do you not want what the teacher recommends? Do you already have the Gutterman thread.
Some Gutterman is ok for both machine and hand quilting but be sure before you buy. If it has a coating on it then it does not work in your machine.
