Can any one let me know what your opinion is about the machines that have the extra space between the needle and the body?. Anyone using this type of machines?.

Thanks in advance,
Sandra

I want one, does that count? They are great for quilting, my friend has one and she doesn't even quilt! Imagine that!!

I love my Janome 6500! All the extra space makes it easier to quilt my quilts. The largest I have done is a twin size, and I had no trouble at all.

I have a Viking with a 10 inch space and it does make a big difference when you need to shove your quilt thru.

My machine is a Janome 6600, which has about a 9" clearance. I'd say the extra space feature was #1 on my list of "Gotta Haves"

...Sharon, I think you should tell your non-quilting friend her sewing machine needs to come to your house for some free-motion practice. It needs to know what it's missing!

Hey Leslee,
I offered to babysit the machine when she goes out of town. I offered to teach her to quilt for small price of the machine use.....she's considering the lessons. lol lol

Happy Quilting,
Sharon
