Default Magnifying Glass to read needle size

I was wondering if anyone has one of these to read the needle numbers. I do have one but does a poor job. I have checked Google but came up empty, not what I want. Hope someone out in quiltland has a suggestion. Thanks in advance. Elaine

We have an old magnifying glass (from the early 1900's) that works well. Don't know where one would buy one new!

Lets face it, they could print the numbers a little bigger or colour code them right? I use my magnifying glass that I attach to my Bernina for detail sewing. There are magnifiers with a little light in the eye glass dept. at Walmart as well as the lamp/ sewing department that would work.

If you go to eBay and type in 'Jeweler's Loupe' you'll find one for a few dollars. The higher the number, the more magnification. I keep mine beside my machine.

I use mine from Harbor Freight. It cost about $4. I think it was called "jumbo helping hands." It has all sorts of holders with it, but I just use the magnifier part.

Just discovered that I have one on my bobbin cover on my machine. I tried it and you can read the numbers very well. Somebody was thinking!

I have the Martha Stewart dry earise stickers next to each machine, I right the size/head of each needle, date and the thread(If you can't tell by the cone) next to each machine. I use a dry erase crayon(markers smear too easy) to mark the info. I just started this but it has removed the need to check with a magnifying glass for me.
