The 100% poly that I referred to wasn't a knit, it was a woven, silky fabric.

I suppose one could make a quilt top from the silky, slippery, woven polyester fabrics.

I would choose something that used big pieces and would use at least a 3/8 inch seam allowance. My experience has been that it tends to fray/unravel wildly.

I would also overcast the seams - or sew a second seam 1/8 away from the first.

But I'm a "belt and suspenders" kind of person. Bring sunblock and an umbrella to a picnic, etc.
