Markers for wool?
As I have been trying to do some wool embroidery and appliqué (wool to wool), I haven't been able to find a marker that will show up on the wool. I have tried numerous markers but none of them seem to show. The Frixions, which usually work in any color on the various cottons, don't do anything on wool. The instructions on one of the white Clover markers say that they might not work on a textured fabric. I am assuming that is what is happening on the wool. If none of the markers work, how do you transfer the pattern? I would like something that would wash out because I am making my own designs and might change my mind as the project progresses. Thank you for any ideas.

Have you tried ordinary white chalk sharpened to a point to get a fine line? Chalk should be soft enough to mark wool if the colours are medium to dark. I use a makeup pencil sharpener to sharpen my chalk.

Did you try Chaco liner? Or, as Tartan says, school chalk. Or tailors chalk. Or soap slivers.
