Mary Jo's is awesome, but I have a special memory of that store. After a week long motorcycle trip through W.V. Mary Jo's was my last stop on my way back home to Atlanta. I was hot and exhausted, but not enough to forgo Mary Jo's. My husband called while I was in the store. I had told him I planned to spend the night in Gastonia, but I just wanted to be home. It was another 5 hours. I walked out of the store with my wonderful purchases, trying to figure out where I was going to add them to an already overloaded motorcycle. My husband was sitting in the parking lot in his pickup, with the ramps. We loaded the bike, I stripped off the hot leather and rode home with my feet in front of the air conditioner vent. It's one of my favorite memories of him. Now when I visit Mary Jo's, I take a moment to remember him meeting me there. Okay, crying now, but just wanted to share that.

Two "awesome"s in one day is almost TWO much to bear! An awesome shop is great but an awesome DH like yours is the best. You are a lucky lady!

Mary Jos prices
Her prices are terrific in quilting cottons...the last trip there when everyone else was selling Hoffman batiks for $8 a yard, she had them for $4 to$6 (bear in mind that was 8 yrs ago LOL)
Also 1/2 of the store (last time I was there) are dressmaker/bridal/upholstery fabrics. I bought some of my daughters wedding dress trims there at a huge savings. Also I was recovering 2 chairs in a decorator fabric and ran short. I found it by the yard @$25 in a decorator store, $16 yd @ Calico Corners and sent a sample to Mary Jos and yes, they had it for $8 a yard!!!!
You can send them a sample of what you are trying to match and they will send you snips back of what they have that comes close. You can also call them/email them to tell them what you are looking for and they will send you snips of potential matches.
When I go, I plan on a whole day there. I peruse the store in the morning, head for lunch and come back and start hauling bolts!
