I don't remember which online store it was, but one of them lets you click on a spot in a fabric and it will pull every fabric from their store that has the same color in it. It's pretty cool because it allows you to match across different fabric lines. Maybe someone can point you to that store since I can't seem to remember, but it was very helpful for me.

Thousands of Bolts - has their fabric sorted by color - you can search my manufacturer

But I can't tell you how many times I have gone to Joann Fabric only to leave with nothing.
