Mine is 12'x16'. Seemed pretty big till I started putting everything in. Lol! I have a shelf unit on each side wall and adjustable shelving on the metal "tracks" along the entire back wall (interrupted by a/c - heater at top). Then have sewing machines and ironing board along rest of side walls. Have ribbon rack under one front window and "stuff" under the other. Above my machine I have my flannel backed tablecloth design wall. In the center of the area I have a 6' plastic folding table set on cinder blocks to get it tall enough for my cutting table, which I can work on from any side. No pictures right now cuz it's a big mess. Little helper. . .

The room will change sizes as it is painted and equipment put in. I had a new office it looked small then large I was amazed at how my preconceptions altered as it was changed.
Enjoy it sounds like a good size to me.

I have mine in the basement, I really like that when I make my creative messes... I can walk away and not have to look at it. Even better no one knows it there if company stops over. No scrambling to neaten up for guests.

I considered that but my knees wouldn't last long if I had to go up and down the stairs that often. Plus, our basement will only have access through the garage. So I would have to go out to the garage and then downstairs. And it won't be a finished basement.

I'm happy for you! I've not measured my room, but it is our original guest room. It is a smallish bedroom size.

When we added on my sewing room, I thought that 18 x 18 was a large enough space. By the time I got my 10' frame, table for cutting, large ironing board, and had collected all my sewing stuff that had been stored all over the house, I had run out of room. Partly from some poor planning on my part as to what I wanted and not wanting to give up some other stuff. As they say, hindsight is usually better than foresight.

Congratulations on the new modular. We are planning on one to replace our Hurricane Sandy destroyed home, but we will have to have it placed on a foundation that is 12 feet high. That means the ground floor, except for the vestibule area is free! I plan to have my studio down there. If there is another flood I can run the machines upstairs and put bins of fabric on a garage gator and hoist it to the ceiling! YAY! Well, eventually, YAY.

ME TOO!! My daughter and son in law finished the basement in our retirement home, so we have a storage room, DH's exercise room, and the rest is for my sewing and quilting.......I can leave everything AS IS, and go back to it whenever I feel like it.........and it is always so cool in the summer.......
