Missouri Star Quit Company Tutorial "Quartered Stripes"
Has anyone here made a quilt using the "Quartered Stripes" Tutorial by Missouri Star Quit Company? I like that quilt and want to make it for my son-in-law for Christmas, using stripes that are darker colors. However, I am worried about finding striped fabric and not knowing what the end result will look like. I would love to see pictures if anyone on here has made one like that.

Found the video. I've been wanting to do something like that with red and black stripes. May just be easier to purchase striped red and black fabric. thanks for letting us know about the video.

That fabric sounds like it will look awesome in this quilt. I hope to find something in blues and greens and I also want the stripes to be varying widths. But I am thinking about buying twice as much fabric as I need so I can cut every 10" square on the exact repeat of the stripes so all the blocks are exactly identical. Then I could use the remaining fabric up by using it in the backing somehow.

Sounds interesting, you might be able to find a stripe w/ the repeat (or close to it) that will work for that w/ little waste. My fabric was a "found" bargain, it was a 100% cotton shower curtain at a thrift store. I was on the look out at fabric stores for a stripe to use for this quilt, and just happened to find this first. The colors I think will work nicely for my niece, she is about to graduate H.S. She really likes the darker colors and loves the look of optical illusion quilts.

I made seven toddler donation quilts using this pattern. I wa surprised that the stripes match up without any fussing. One thing I learned, you need the 1 and 1/4 yards to get 10" cuts, anything less will be too narrow when folded . I cut my fabric 1 1/4" yard sections to get more blocks. Anything less then 1 1 /4" yard and the squares will have to be smaller. Here is a picture of one of the quilts. and the striped fabric I used:
