What Was The First Quilt You Made?
#1
I have been looking at the gorgeous pictures of everyone's quilts. They are absolutely amazing and beautiful! It just got me thinking (as a newbie) what everyone else started with.
So, what was the first quilt you made?

My first finished quilt was a triple rail fence from the Mary Ellen Hopkins It's Okay If You Sit on My Quilt (Because I Can Make Another) technique. Made for my daughter. By the end of that 6 weeks course, I had made 2 more, a Court House Steps Log Cabin and one other I can't remember at the moment, all finished and bound.
Before I found quilting, I had made 12 candlewicked blocks which I wanted to put in a quilt, but didn't know how. I soon put that quilt together and started my first handquilting venture, totally self taught. That was 28 years ago!

Mine was six inch square blocks sewed together for my DGD. I used solid pinks and purples and alternated with fussy cut princesses. She still has it and it finds it's way to the livingroom to cover up with while watching TV.

My first one was a king size T-shirt quilt made from my south Louisiana festival shirts, collected over a 10 year period. It was sashed and bordered in blue and white prints. My DS and ddil have it now. Oh yes, I took a class to learn how to do it; that was in 2003.
