    Default MSQC Half hex

Did anyone on board order this from MSQC as a daily special, not too long ago? I did, and now looking at the pattern included, I think I have a "better" way of doing it...........just wondering...

Yes, I ordered it, but have not had time to "ponder" on it.

I you think you have a better way to do it, try it. If it works let them know. I'm sure they will pass it on.

I also got it, but didn't care for the pattern. Is there a better pattern out there?

I ordered it. Which pattern did they send with yours? The pattern they sent me wasn't the one I was expecting and one I probably won't ever make. I'm planning on doing one from the Mod Quilt magazine, can't remember the name.

The pattern is called "Lucky Penny". I don't remember seeing a tute on it, although there probably is one on their site. The instructions call for sewing by rows.....I'm thinking of creating blocks of these clusters by cutting those half hexies in the background color in half vertically to get straight edges and then put blocks together......I'm thinking about it

I was in N. Ft. Myers, Fl at the Quilter's Hangout and saw the pattern "Northern Lights" made with the large half hex and it is getting better for me. I have some cut out, one row finished and I am thinking of doing it Quilt-as-you-go because it is for a teenager and the large dog sleeps on her bed. The pattern shows all in solid colors but I added some prints. I want it done by Christmas 2015 if life doesn't get in the way. The pattern is by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts.com. You can check it out there.

Lucky Penny is the pattern I thought I was getting but they sent Pop Fly. I think it was called Beach Balls in the tutorial. It looks like hexie so but is actually snowballed blocks and doesn't use a template at all. Fortunately I have the Lucky Penny pattern in last year's Summer issue of Block.
