I agree with you. Even though they are not necessarily "pretty" blocks, I like them so much more than some of the "new" blocks. :-)

Good for you! Yes, I agree with cufur, but now these blocks found someone to love them and find a place to be appreciated.

I guess quilting just isn't for everyone. :-( You know the old saying.....different strokes for different folks.

What a wonderful find! Now I wonder how many other beautiful completed items the family was able to keep. They certainly were fortunate to have a lady in their family keep the art of quilting alive and well. Now the blocks are yours to design a beautiful quilt.

There are some clear envelopes made for fabric postcards to mail that have a self-sealing edge. I went in with several friends and bought them. I have the post office hand cancel the post card by hand right on the stamp, and then seal the clear envelope and mail. I have sent these to the US, France, Germany, Phillipines and Australia without problem.

That is a great idea! I had never thought of that. Some of these blocks ARE wonky.[/quote]

I'm 67--and I have quilts and misc. blocks inherited from my grandmothers that have some of these same prints. One died when I was only 9, and the other when I was in my late 20's. Many of these pieces were made from feed sacks; others from leftover dress scraps. So...some of your 9-patch pieces are from fabrics 60-40 yrs. old or older. What a find--and for only $5!

Those 9-patches would be pretty set on point with a dark (maybe black) background.
