My Ah-Ha moment!! (scroll down to see the actual Ah-Ha)

Thanks for your Ah..ha moment! I've had that last little bit wander as well, so great solution. I had one of those yesterday when I was taking a paper piecing class. Have you ever had that piece you thought was on there just right MOVE on you? I was doing the freezer paper method and pinning is so much trouble and can distort the paper, but my paper had torn and someone handed me some scotch tape....now I tape the piece I'm going to sew on the opposite side of the seam and it holds the piece in place. Take off the tape, turn the piece and press. I can use the pieces of tape several times before I have to tear off new ones.

When I sewed the purse straps for a tote last year, I used a stack of tape on the seam side and then another on the opposite side of the strap so that I could keep it from wandering off. But that doesn't work so well with wide pieces of fabric.

Hey Ya'll I got some moleskin today & it works great! I used it on 2 of my machines & on 1 of my apprentices machines. We'll have to get 'em on to the rest of our machines! It works even better than the painters tape. I still use my finger on the left of the pressure foot to keep the final 1/4 inch from wondering!!!
