Even though the price was unbelievably reasonable, I thought I could surely use the money for other things. My very thoughtful son would not take no for an answer and bought this for my Christmas present. Then called his brother and told him what THEY were buying me for Christmas. My other son was very happy he did not have to look for something. I was so overwhelmed, it was hard to hold back the tears.

My younger son came by today to visit "Dolly" and was really impressed with his purchase. Had to try it out himself. Dolly sews like a dream and her stitches are beautiful. Her wooden house has one small very shallow scratch on one side, but for an 85 year old lady she is beautiful to her new mommy. She has her original decals all in good condition. Someone special must have really loved her before she entered into an estate sale. Now she has been adopted into a loving home where she will be cherished for years to come.

I am so happy doing the happy dance every time I look at it!!!!

I was married right after WW2 and sewing machines were not available anywhere. All the factories switched to making war products. Yes, even sewing machines for the service. My DH ask me what I wanted for a wedding present and I said my own sewing machine. Had been using my Mom's peddle for years and hated it. Bless his heart. He found one just like your avatar. It was used but in excellent condition. It also cost more than a new one would have before the war. I loved that machine.
