I would wash it again with nothing added to the wash.

I would use the fabric. It does look like you bought it that way.

I think it still looks pretty- think moda marbles. Like everyone said- once it's cut up you won't notice it and I'm sure your DDIL won't know the difference. Good luck to you-I know how frustrating problems with fabric can be!

I would try to return it if you really don't want to use it.

I agree with everyone else on the board, once you cut and sew the fabric, no one will know the difference.

If I were you I would tear it up and use it for rags. I know it sounds harsh and wasteful, but since you feel this way about the fabric now, every time you look at it in your quilt,it will bring back all these bad feelings. Why torture yourself over and over again? Tear it up, call it a day, and move on to bigger and better things!

Tell yourself it was a "quilting" lesson you took and paid for.

Now get out some "happy" fabric and quilt again with a smile on your face! LOL

I really like the look! I think it will make a beautiful quilt! Much more interesting than a plain dye job.

I would wash it again with Retayne. Then I would try a block. If not satisfied, I would try to return it. If they don't take it back and/or give you credit, I would then try to get some dye close to the color and try dying it. Then I would wash it again in cold water and add some white vinegar to that water to set the color.

Sorry that happene to you, but if it was me, I would go ahead and use it. It does look like it is part of the fabric color. Who knows , in time it might dissapear. It does not change the pattern of the fabric drastically, so use it.

I would wash it one more time too. Then use the fabric no matter how it comes out since it will be cut into small pieces. I do not think it looks too bad now, but would wash it again to make sure excess dye is out of it and oes not ruin the finished product when it is wshed later with color running. Take care.

I would go ahead and use it. I couldn't hardly tell there was anything wrong with it. Your dil won't know the difference but will love the quilt because it came from you!
