my first quilting workshop - newbie!
Folks,
I posted a couple musings over the summer regarding old family quilts as well as my newfound hobby - machine sewing and beginning quilting. Well, since I hadn't been here since, figured I should come back and be friendly!
I'm now in the middle of a 9-week basic machine quilting course at a local shop. Each week, students are introduced to a particular block or quilting process, and right now I'm spending a few minutes unwrapping a couple Marti Michell patchwork templates. I "cut my own" 12-inch block 9-patch and 4-patch templates from plastic sheeting. Will undoubtedly purchase more durable templates to replace these in the future - since I love how successful I am with sewing blocks if I use Marti's tools for the cutting!
I will post pics and/or other stuff when I can find some time.

Welcome back. I wish my guy would piece and quilt with me, but..... We have several guys on this forum that have created some beautiful quilts and shared them with us. It really sounds like you are having fun with your new hobby and we will love seeing pictures of Honeybee as she (gotta be a girl with a name like Honeybee) grows. Stories are welcome too.

Nice to hear from you again. Can't wait to see what you have been up to. One of my favorite things about this board is sharing my projects and seeing what other folks are doing with fabric. You never know when inspiration is going to strike.
