Default My first try at a Hunter's Star block

I've been wanting to try to make a Hunter's Star block for a long time now. Today I found this tutorial from Roolen & she made it so easy. My cutting & sewing accuracy was a bit off & my block measured out to be 9 5/8" square. I wasn't sure what the size was going to be as I could not find it in any of Roolen's posts. I was hoping for a 12 1/2" block for a charity quilt block drive I'm participating in so I will put a border around it to make it 12 1/2" unfinished. I'm really happy how it turned out.

Here's where Roolen posted her tutorial:

Here's a pic with the border. I decided to put on a flange (which I've never done before). I like how it turned out.

One key tip on the tutorial is in Step 3 & Step 4....be sure to IRON FIRST and then cut. I cut first & ironed later before I realized what was going wrong.
