My Machine in Hospital! But not for long.
My sewing machine started to squeak, so I took it in to the repair place. I was nervous because friends who have taken theirs into a different person said it was taking 2-3 weeks.
I dropped it off today, by appt and the tech, who is also the owner of the business, got back to me within 2 hours, told me what the problem was (a loose belt), how much a full maintenance and the repair would be and that it will be ready tomorrow at 1 pm! Now that's service.
I know that this business does all the repairs for a busy sewing machine shop in town, so he must have squeezed me in. He also came to my house a year ago when my Tiara had a problem and I told him I didn't think I could move it and fixed it on site, all the time calling it "baby" and telling me what a beauty it was.
We need more service like this.
I'm going to tell my friends that are without their machines for 3 weeks to start going here.

I drive a long way(500+ miles, one way) to my service guy, and I drop 1-3 machines at one time and he gets them done that day, that's one reason I go to him, another is that I trust him and know he's not going to cheat me. I don't go down strictly for the machine service though, I get my eye exam, hair cut and the taco truck. LOL

My sewing machine repairman usually has my machine serviced within 24 hours. He services my Singers and Husqvarna - but I do take my Janome to the dealer I bought it from. The Janome dealer does take a couple weeks. I know my Husqvarna dealer could service the Janome but it's not his specialty.

Great service and you are lucky it wasn’t anything too serious. My sewing buddy made appointments to drop off our Bernina machines to the dealer for annual checkups but when she told me how far out they were (meaning 2-3 weeks) scheduled, I said no thanks. I’ll take it in during the summer months when I’m outside gardening but now is when I get most of my sewing time in.
