I'm not really sure what piece is missing, that's the problem. It looks like the bobbin holder thingy is missing, but I don't know what else. The guy had no clue where the part went, or he didn't remember.
The next time I go to Hawaii, I'm bringing the machine with me and will drop it at the repair shop. There aren't any repair shops here :(

That's a beautiful thang, Terri!!! I had an old Singer that was my Grandmothers and I learned to sew on aged 9ish but my ex-husband left it in Ireland when we moved house (just one of the many reasons why he's my ex!!!)

We have a wonderful older gentleman, a retired Singer repairman, a few towns over who comes to your house and repairs all brands of sewing machines. Wish I could send him to you.

That machine is a beauty! Once you get it repaired you'll probably never
have to take it to the shop again. And you'll love it! You've gotten a
gift that will keep on giving. Lucky you!!!!

Neat old machine. Keep your mind off that booger that is lurking in the jungle wanting to pinch you. I still love my first machine. Got it when I was 15 I think. It's about 39 years old. Going to let my only granddaughter have it some day to learn to sew on it.
