I went "silver" in my early 30's. My husband has always loved it and been supportive of it. I don't want to dye it because it grows so fast and it's very hard to get the right color on it. Fortunately, people stop me in public places and ask if it's natural or if I have it colored and the two hair dressers I've had over these many years say they would refuse to dye it if I asked. I figure you can't help your age so I run with it.

I've been almost all gray since 35. I'm not 65. Several years ago I stopped coloring my hair after I decided that I was old enough to actually have gray hair. It's very liberating.

I used to dye. Too much work so I decided to make do with whatever God gave me. He doesn't create any junk!

My hair started turning when I was in High School.
I was totally white by 35.
Starting dying it after my divorce (BIG MISTAKE).
Am letting it grow off and out, cut me some
bangs and hair is now down to my
shoulders with some brown dye left.

    Makes pony tails easy.

I am 62 and have had my light brown hair highlighted for so many years that I don't know whether or not I have any grey. When I ask my hairdresser, he assures me I have very little. That man is worth his weight in gold!

My aunt was in her 80's and I would take her shopping if I was around (she was still driving, just liked the company) We had to buy her "rinse" and she said to gray-haired me, "Aren't you going to do something about the color of your hair (I was in my 50's and more salt than pepper) -- nothing doin' -- I do not have time!

My hair is also snow white, but I color it because it is very very fine, and has no body at all without color. Not vain, just trying not to look like a bedhead all the time

I have the opposite problem--my fine, medium blonde hair has progressively darkened, thinned, and gotten even finer. I used to hope for gray just for the heavier texture, but at 64 am still waiting. I dye it a little lighter because it looks better on my pale self, but mainly because it damages the hair enough to give it a hint of body. When it grows out a bit the color still looks OK but hair is straight and as limp as an overcooked... ANGEL HAIR noodle. And that's with lots of gel and hairspray. Makes me long for the halcyon days of youth, except then I thought I was fat and hair ugly, and had not a clue that both would only get worse! But now with less angst and more friends (and fabric!) and my exciting new avocation, I'd swap for the body but definitely not the rest of those yesteryears. :D

    :-D

think maybe my daughter didn't take finding a gray hair well?

I have snow white hair- which started turning when i was 20---it bugged my daughter so much she bought me my first dye kit for my 21st b'day---i dyed it for years- but about 5 years ago decided it was just too hard to keep up with-so i let it go---
we had a good laugh about granddaughter's comment-
she is always thinking of ways to (avoid crisis)

I'd love to have white hair but I bet mine will be mousy gray like my mom's was.

I'm 56 and have been going grey for a looong time. I used to get fine black streaks to disguise it a little and it does look really nice but I decided all those chemicals can't be good for you so now just au naturale greyish.
