Welcome to the Board. I love that you have a 401A! So do I--new in 1958. I have often said that, should the house catch fire, I would take my machine out the door with me. I love that machine! I have sewn car seat covers, draperies, play tents, ---you name it---I have made them.

There are several Giant Dahlia quilt instruction videos, and sewing curved seams videos, on YouTube. I would make several practice pieces to follow along with the videos, just to practice before jumping in, but that is just my way. Welcome to the quilting board from Oregon.
