Well now that you've been well instructed on how to cut a perfect circle. Maybe I can help you with sewing a perfect circle. :)

There is a "Circular Sewing Attachment" available for at least: Janome, Viking, Brother Innovis (don't know about other brother machines), Singer, Kenmore and I'm not sure who else. You could check with the manufacturer of your machine and see if they have come out with one yet.

Saw one in action on Fons and Porter - but I can't find that right now. Here's a You-Tube video from Brother that demonstrates theirs.

Good luck!

Thanks

Thats about as clear as mud isn't it? If this kid of mine would ever go to sleep I would set my machine up and take a picture of what I did! lol

This is MY method for sewing perfect circles every time.

As your sewing all you have to really worry about is moving the fabric around and keeping it at the right tension.

Sorry I used paper I wasn't digging for fabric while my husband is trying to sleep. lol

Stick a thumb tack through a couple pieces of tape.

find the exact center of the circle and stick the thumb tack through it (sticky side out)

Line up the edge of the circle with the needle if your sewing circles inside squares you could stick the needle through the circle line. press around the tack to get the tape to stay down.
