I think this is a great idea. The star is so lovely and well done, it should be the focus of the quilt, not the border. Well done!!

I am in total and complete agreement. The border takes away from the quilt. The only part of the border I would use is the little strip on the side, not the larger flowered portion. While the colors are compatible, it is the size of the flowers that are bothersome. Beautiful work!

I would leave the border alone or go with one that works with the star but simple like piano keys in the colors of the star or small blades like the end points of the star. if you use the floral border, it kind of clashes like some plaids with prints. If in doubt leave it out.

Your star is beautiful- I like that the colors in the border compliment the star but I think it is to busy. My eye is drawn straight to the border. I also think the star is contemporary and the border pattern is more traditional. Please
post a picture of the finished quilt-can't wait to see what you used. Have Fun!!

I would skip the border!
Your paper piecing and resulting star is stunning!

I ditto Tartan .The border clashes with the star.It is as if they are modern and antique and they just clash.

I agree, do you have a solid colored bedsheet or tablecloth that you could use to audition just to see what a solid colored border would do for this quilt. I can fully appreciate using your stash however so much work went into this beautiful quilt I'd even set it aside unitl I could get the solid.

I also think that the border draws the eye. No border would be best in my opinion.

Your quilt is just beautiful, and I like it without a border.
