I love the Amish style quilts. What can I say.I like to machine piece, and hand stitch where it shows, so the quilt has a hand-sewn affect. I've pieced the top & basted the layers of one king-sized center diamond-nine patch quilt (in use), but that was in Autumn of '07. I rather got use to it unfinished, have been using it this way (basted) and I'm just not sure what to do. Kind of made a bad choice of batting (too puffy for hand quilting, thought I could hand sew through it, but I think I'd rather have done the batting in flannel. So I'm thinking I'll tie off this one, and start another , batted with flannel, so I can hand quilt a lot easier. What would you do? Thanks ahead of time !

Amish quilts are breathtaking! Do try to finish and show us your first one. Remember that the Amish always try to include mistakes, because no one is perfect. And then start another. If you have the talent to hand quilt, it will only add to the beauty. I can't wait to see your quilts!

I think it is the one in her Avatar. I have a preprint of this one that is quilted quite nicely if you would like to see it. THe Amish here usually do very simple designs.
