How about a color in the quilt with polka dots.

I'd go for a multi print in primary colors. Dots, balloons, circles or some small print. It would make it fun and wouldn't look like you " over-bordered" it to make it bigger. IMHO :-)

This may not be your style, but what about pink and white polka dots? Either pink dots and white background, or white dots on a pink background. I'm assuming the quilt is for a baby girl?

The size seems about right for a crib quilt -- not too big to get dragged around or to put the baby on at Nana's house.

What would you recommend?
Do you know the the name of the fabric collection, the designer and/or the fabric manufacturer? Google any or all of that and see what you come up with. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that a QS near you has some, or it could be purchased online.

I agree. It ain't broke, so don't fix it.

I would definitely look for a print, maybe one that has at least 2 of the 3 primary colors. Great little quilt!

Ditto - or something similar to the blue frames.

I agree. You could make the backing fabric match the outside border.
