I have to agree with the Eleanor Burns method of making log cabins being fastest and easiest. I have her book, and just lent it to a friend who wants to do one. Fast, fast, FAST!!!

Just love the scrappy log cabin above, just what I have in mind to make next. I've been gathering all my scraps and am separating them into lights and darks and hope to begin real soon. May in Jersey

I have made a log cabin doing Quilt as You Piece - I sewed the strips onto a square of batting and backing that I'd tacked together, joined the squares together by machine stitiching right sides together on the top then trimming back the batting, turning under the backing and blind stitching down. It means you get seams on the back and a bit of hand sewing but no quilting required, just bind. I can take pics to show you if you're interested. :-D

I made this one using Eleanor Burns method. I love to use her patterns. I want to make a scrappy one next.
