Need help with color choices

I would go with what my son calls the faded fabrics. Use a variety for a scrappy look, but focus on fabrics that don't pop so much. Makes a very soft look and blends with any other colors in a room pretty good.

Every one is suggesting white for the background of your wedding ring quilt. I agree. However, the choice of fabrics for the ringshould be a very outstand combination of pastel backgrounds. I would suggest a pale green or blue with an overall small design of flowers (blue, pink, yellows) any color as long as the prints are very small. I used this formula for one I made several years ago and it turned out beautifully. Good luck with it. It is a very rewarding pattern to work with.

Use a pastel color which would coordinate with the majority of the flowers in your ring. I prefer a pale color as to not overpower the ring. I used a pale ecru and embroidered a small lazy daisy in the middle of it (with a couple of green leaf's of course.

(for the melons and the weird square part) Thank you!!

A few weeks ago someone on this forum posted a pix of a wedding ring quilt done with the white background and the rings more or less solid in an offwhitish color with the connecting squares in light shades of tan, light gold, -- it was gorgeous and looked liked it might be easier and faster than the more traditional multi-squares in the rings -- I loved it and would like to make one like it -- I'm very impatient and want things done now! and I seem to make very big quilts

I've seen one done in neutrals. beige to tans with a very light tan for the background. It was stunning. Would go with any change of colors. You could use a white background with the tans/beiges for the pieces.

Take a look at the colors in this quilt that someone here on the board just made. I love these colors (whites and creams and beiges).
