Blue. Picks up the blue in the gorgeous focal. Looks like a B Q pattern.

your butterfly fabric is gorgeous...I think it might be the pattern that isn't bringing your eye to the print...maybe a star block??? play with it...your eye will tell you....please post a pic when it's finished....

With the others your focus fabric is lovely, what a great starting point. I really think Maniac's is a great answer, if you didn't want to go black maybe one of the other colors would work. I kind of felt like the crosses buried the focus fabric, wonder if a more neutral background fabric would work. Say a very pale yellow or beige.

What about using black with a yellow stripe? That would tone down the brightness some.

Love the focus fabric. I vote for #3, but only because I like blues and I think it accents the butterflies more.

Wow, I am kind of surprised by the votes for #1. Doesn't really appeal to me. I like #4. Your butterfly fabric is so beautiful!

I vote for 4. It lets the focus fabric 'speak'. In the other versions the focus fabric seems overwhelmed. IMHO

Default I had the same thought last night - here it is!

I am going with this! The blue fabric I have matches the dark blue in the butterfly print, it is lovely!
