Anne, it's not that hard. If you want bars that are 2 inches by 8 inches, make the first bar with an 8 1/2 inch strip with a 2 1/2 inch square. Stitch and flip. Next bar is a 61/2 inch strip with a 4 1/2 inch strip. Stitch and flip. Next one is 4 1/2 inch with 6 1/2 inch and so on. Basically, imagine a bar with a HST inserted. The HST steps down a step in each bar.

Thank you to all those who took the time to reply. It is appreciated. So many nice people on this board. You always maake an effort to help others. It's wonderful to see, especially when the world is so topsy-turvy. Stay safe, everyone. anne

Just remember two things. 1) To finish at 8”, the total length of the 2 strips in each row will always be 11”. 2) the diagonal lines change direction: first up the mountain, then down the mountain. The Jenny Doan tutorial doesn’t use strips; it uses big HST, cuts them apart then puts them back together.

Looks like a version of Delectable Mountains. There's a few different versions out there, some free. The one by Bonnie Hunter is called Scrappy Mountain Majesties. Here's a couple to check out and maybe get you started.
