Default Need help with rolling back for binding

I finally finished quilting a second denim and twill quilt. I am considering turning the back (made from sweatshirt material with fleece side to the outside). My question is about the number of layers on the edge. Normally the edge is 2 layers, but this is only a single layer. Will it be durable if it only a single thickness? Or am missing something about this technique?
The pattern is very similar to the Notting Hill pattern posted recently.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions .

Do you mean you are going to fold the sweatshirt backing fabric to the front for the binding? If that is case then one layer of the sweatshirt fabric will be thick enough for the binding. If I am not understanding the question correctly, never mind.

when you fold the back to the front to bind are you turning under the edge? or just folding over & leaving raw edge exposed? if you are turning it under you will have 2 layers- if leaving raw be sure to use an over cast stitch of some sort to keep the edge from raveling. either way if you like it it's probably fine.

What ckcowl said.... leave enough to fold the extra in half then pull to the front/back so its doubled, plus it will look finished..
