Some gorgeous embroidery scissors and a quilted sewing roll with pin felt and a pockets for the scissors and floss.
A scissors case with ribbon to wear around the neck.
Perhaps an album with a quilted cover and plastic sleeves in it to store patterns.
I wish I were your SIL.

pillow cases to match the quilt, tote bags, aprons if she wears them, a lap quilt to match her living room, another quilt would probably be much loved. one can never have to many quilts.....

Does she wrap her floss on those little cardboards? If you make a travel sewing kit, include a flap with little pockets to put about a dozen board of floss. Customize it for embroidery. I think that is a great idea. I would love to have one.

This link has a cute wallhanging with hand embroidery called 'Give Thanks'. Sometimes when someone does a certain craft like knitting or quilting friends don't do the same craft to give them as gifts. I love to recieve quilty gifts even if I love to do them myself.

How about a bag or purse? Shopping bag. Wall hanging. Quilted pillows or pillow cases.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think I have even made her an apron. Am thinking about some kind of embroidery kit. Thanks again.
