Default Need some filler ideas

Hello all!

So I have this done so far (the black markings will no show up once I wash it!) Also, the black markings on the sides of the middle of the quilt haven't been quilted, as I decided I didn't like the design!

I'm looking for filler ideas ...

I think a small stipple would make the feather look like stuffed trapunto. Cute kitty!

I would do one narrow echo around each motif just once first....then tiny cobblestones. Echo would help separate motif from fill and cause it to pop out..otherwise it may get lost in the fill... I learned this from an award winning LA (can't remember her name) who suggested doing this....particularly with feathers...

Exactly! If you don't want to pebble, then I'd do some matchstick lines between each echoed feather

In my opinion the quilting designs take away from the kitty....a stipple or meander would have worked.

Cat got into the canary cage with all those feathers!

I hope that wasn't offensive but it was a thought. Your feathers are so expertly done! Yes, I like the idea of the echo around the feather motifs but I tend to agree with lindaschipper that a design that didn't detract from the kitty might have been "better". But I sure wouldn't take the feathers out. Very nice work.

Not offensive at all! The quilting is done in white thread, so once I wash it, the "black" markings won't there ... it's a border!
