Need Updated Pattern - Tissue Box Holder
We've all seen them at Grandma's house. Those cute, kinda corny, quilted, or needlepoint covers that go over a box of tissue. Well...I'm not talking about those.
I'm looking for a tissue box cover (the tall, 4"x4"x5" size,) that is more "Cottage Modern," "English Country," or "Cabin Rustic" and definitely unique. I'd even go for "tasteful," if that's even possible for a tissue box cover. Got any patterns, or ideas? I need to blow my nose every morning and I'm tired of looking at the cardboard tissue box from the Dollar Store.
Thanks! (sniff, sniff)

I have them all over my house. I make them with fabric to coordinate with the room. I don't consider them corny at all. I coordinate them by using fabric from a quilt that's in the room or other fabric that matches the decor. I made a tutorial and posted it on my blog if you are interested. Under the "Tutorial" tab. It's the only one I've done.

I was thinking I saw a plastic one at Dollar Tree, but not positive, nor could I find by doing a search. I did find a fabric one using the shower ring grommet for the top that modernizes it a bit. Then I found some other ones that seem a bit pricey for me. The last link is a unfinished wood one.

I used wall paper to cover the tissue box.. I spent about an hour making it. I still remember doing it and it was enjoyable. I took an empty box and opened it flat then covered it but leaving the folds not covered. I open the bottom to put in new tissues and use removable tape to tape the bottom closed if needed. The box has lasted me for several years so far.

Connecting Thread has has this free pattern for years & years. It has 6 different designs for seasons.
Then they have the second one called "Blooming Tissue Box Cover". The patterns may all be the same but
with just different "designs". Anyway, they are free!
Actually, Connecting Thread has lots of free patterns. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Thanks everyone. I'll look at yours DJ, QuiltE.
I've also been poking around the web and I also came up with an idea of making a beaded one. Uhhh...it might be too much work, but maybe I'll use very big beads.
...or maybe shells and pebbles. I dunno.
