Default need Yarn to tie this quilt

i made a copy of this photo to be smaller. i want to tie this quilt with variegated yarn in purple I think. it has dark purple, medium and light purple. apple green and blocks have both with pink, yellow, etc. Was a swap win a few years ago. what is a good yarn to use. Red heart, acrylic or soft, etc. i have no idea. only tied two other quilts before. anyone have suggestions?

OK, Red Heart it is. I'm so behind in my quilting. Thanks

I've used DMC embroidery floss because I wanted the tie to match the fabric. The embroidery floss is over 15 years old, the quilt is used daily and is still beautiful.

I have successfully used crochet cotton. It comes in several thicknesses and I e used a fatter and thinner thread. Both worked well. It comes in multicolor too. Whatever thread/yarn you use, a surgeons knot works well.

I'm not a fan of using yarn to tie a quilt. It tends to age prematurely with laundering. If you really want to use yarn, Red Heart is an excellent choice. I prefer using crochet thread or perle cotton to tie a quilt. Floss will work well, too, but may be more difficult because of the multiple threads together. Pretty project! You will enjoy that for a long time.
