Default New 1/4" foot

...well, not really new, but for my BL it is! I really dislike the both 1/4" feet that are sold for the BL.......that angled left edge on them seems to "catch" on seams as they pass....anyway was watching sewing with nancy one
day and she was doing a 1/4" seam with her BL.....clear plastic foot, both sides straight edged! So I contacted, asked if foot was BL or what....answer...Little foot.....generic! Should have known.....it came in, I attached and sewed the prettiest 1/4" seam you ever saw.....just in case anyone is interested......

I had to stitch with a generic foot until Bernina finally came out with making one.

i found the same issue with the left side of that foot. and the 'fence' on the right side is not quite stiff enough. jmho

i've used the Little Foot since they first came out in the 90's. they were black then & i still have it. i am currently using thier latest Little Foot incarnation that is a 'scant' 1/4 inch. they work on bernina w an adapter. i put one on my friends bernina & she loves it.

Do you know if they work well on 9mm sewing width machines? I have a Pfaff Performance 5.

I found the same issue with the BL and Brother "1/4" foot, so I use the J foot and move the needle position to 5.5. That's the only way to get a scan 1/4" SA.

I have the generic little foot somewhere around here, I'll have to try it.

Don't know what a 9 mm means...but Nancy's notions has a list of machines it works on........

Hmm, will have to try that J foot-5.5 formula for scant......or I'll look into scant little foot.....where?

I also have that problem with my 1/4" foot, but just put up with it. There is a Little Foot in a box of attachments that was my Mothers, she also used BabyLock machines. I'm going to have to locate that box and try out that foot. Thanks for the heads up

I used one on a Pfaff 1475. One of the earlier 9mm machines. I've used it on a Viking Rose and 1+ also. Put the machine on straight stitch. Pfaff has (had?) a plain clear foot. Same dimensions. I have that as I sold the Little Foot with one of the machines.

I ripped the little black piece off one of my 1/4 feet after getting 3/8th inch seams at a mystery retreat. I now get perfect 1/4" seams with the same foot. On the other 1/4" foot I own, the little black piece is more securely attached so it doesn't move against the edge of the fabric.
